Bye Bye Tim's

For well over two years, Tim's had been my destination for all things coffee and donut. Then, about five months ago, a very grumpy manager told me "buy something, or get out". I understand the message, I even understand why he would be grumpy ( cleaning tables), but I can't treat customers that way, and if I did they would walk. So, I walked. I've been to Tim's a handful of times since then, and now realize the grass is greener on the other side.

For example, I started buying coffee and a muffin at McDonalds. Yes, from one corporate empire to another, but I'm not as picky about the large corporation thing. And guess what? Mcd's makes a great cup of coffee, definately on par with Tim's. Not only that but their muffins are actually better than Tim's. And now that they are promoting a value menu (thanks, Wendy's) that includes a small coffee and muffin for $1.39, they are pumping out higher volumes of muffins. And since they bake all of their muffins in-store (using pre-mixed batter) they really fresh. How can you beat that?

True, they don't carry donuts and alot of the variety that Tim's does, but really, I shouldn't be eating this stuff anyway. Bye, bye Tim's.
