"A group of Australian dolphins appear to be teaching their offspring to protect their snouts with sponges while they nose around the sea floor for food. The dolphins, living in Shark Bay, Western Australia, tear cone-shaped whole sponges off the bottom, said Michael Kruetzen, lead author of a report in Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. "Cultural evolution, including tool use, is not only found in humans and our closest relatives, the primates, but also in animals that are evolutionally quite distant from us," he said. Researchers suspect the sponges help the dolphins avoid stings by stonefish and other creatures lurking in the sandy sea bottom. If they start using shovels, we're in trouble."

Coldplay's new X&Y is fantabulous. It's good to see a mainstream band that writes excellent tunes that have nothing to do with booty. You should get it. I'm gonna buy TWO copies! WOO!
